Sunday 12 September, 2010 – Melbourne, Australia
… then ate it.
Today Britt and I got up at about 10.30am and went out for a coffee straight away to catch up on the past 8 months. We were there for four hours… I really don’t know where the time went.
Fitzroy is a really cool, cosmopolitan area of Melbourne…lots of cafes. Britt took me to the coolest restaurant I have ever been to. It was called Lentils As Everything, and is ethnic gourmet food in buffet style, prepared by volunteer chefs. You pay however much you want (or nothing, if you have nothing). The food was delicious, the people were amazing and we made friends with the Srilankan band, who gave us merraccas so that we could join in. We sang too..because every song seems to comprise of lalalalalala.
After dinner, we hitched a ride to The Horne, with the band. The Horne is an Ethiopian reggae bar..it was such a good time. We met up with Britt’s South African friend Okuma, who is the funniest guy I’ve ever met. Two others came with us – Gagan and Beijae from India. It was such a good night, filled with laughs.
